NYSC has opened a supplementary online registration window for recently uploaded Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) from Thursday, April 9 to Saturday, April 11, 2026. The exercise targets candidates whose details were recently uploaded to the NYSC portal and who have not yet completed the registration process.
The NYSC emphasised that candidates must adhere strictly to the registration timeline to avoid disqualification. The orientation camp for Batch A Stream II is set to commence on April 22, 2026.
If your name just appeared on the Senate list or you missed the first registration window, this is your window. Act now or risk missing camp entirely.
What NYSC Just Announced
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) confirmed that supplementary online registration for newly uploaded prospective corps members will take place from April 9 to April 11, 2026.
That is a three-day window. Just three days.
In a post obtained from NYSC's X account on Monday, the corps announced: "Supplementary online registration for recently uploaded prospective corps members commences Thursday, 9th – Saturday, 11th April 2026."
The message is clear and direct. NYSC is not giving anyone room for excuses. If you fall into the eligible category, the clock has already started ticking.
Who Qualifies for This Supplementary Registration
This is the most important question you need to answer right now. This window is for recently uploaded PCMs. It also gives another chance to candidates whose names were recently added to the Senate list, as well as those who missed the first registration phase.
In simple terms, you qualify if:
Your institution recently uploaded your name to the NYSC Senate list and your details were not yet on the portal during the main registration window.
Your name was added to the Senate list late, whether because of delays at your institution or a recent correction to your academic records.
You were eligible during the original registration window but could not complete the process.
The exercise is intended for candidates whose details were recently uploaded to the NYSC portal and who have not yet completed the registration process.
This is not a second chance for candidates who simply did not show up or were disorganised during the main window. NYSC is targeting a specific group: those who had no portal access at the time because their data was not yet in the system.
Why This Matters So Much
Missing this window is not a small mistake. The consequences hit hard. The NYSC emphasised that candidates must adhere strictly to the registration timeline to avoid disqualification. Registration will be conducted through the official NYSC portal, and applicants are encouraged to follow the step-by-step instructions provided to complete the process successfully.
Disqualification means you do not go to camp with your batch. You do not receive your call-up letter. You wait for the next mobilisation exercise, which could be months away.
This supplementary registration aims to ensure that all eligible candidates are able to participate in the upcoming NYSC orientation exercise without delays. This period is part of NYSC's broader effort to streamline registration, maintain accurate records, and ensure a smooth intake process for all corps members.
NYSC designed this window specifically so that candidates with recently uploaded data do not get left behind. It is a lifeline. Treat it as one.
Key Dates at a Glance for NYSC 2026 Batch A Stream II
Understanding the full mobilisation timeline puts everything in context. The supplementary registration is one piece of a larger picture.
Based on the released 2026 Batch A Stream II mobilisation timetable, activities leading to the orientation exercise take place between February and April 2026. Call-up letters are expected to be available for printing between April 19 and April 21, 2026.
The orientation camp for Batch A Stream II is set to open on April 22, 2026. The NYSC orientation course lasts 21 days, the standard NYSC camp schedule used nationwide. During that period, corps members go through paramilitary drills, lectures, and social activities that prepare them for the service year ahead.
The timeline is tight. Between the supplementary registration closing on April 11 and camp opening on April 22, there are only 11 days. That is the window in which NYSC processes all data, assigns call-up numbers, and makes letters available.
How to Check If Your Name Is on the NYSC Senate List
To check if your name is on the NYSC mobilisation list: visit the official National Youth Service Corps Senate List portal, select your institution from the dropdown menu, select your date of birth, then click the Search button. If your name appears on the list, it means your institution has successfully uploaded your details and you are eligible to proceed with NYSC registration. If your name does not appear, you should contact the Student Affairs Unit in your institution for clarification.
Do not skip this step. Attempting to register when your name is not yet on the Senate list will fail. Confirm your eligibility first, then proceed.
Step-by-Step Process to Complete Your Supplementary Registration
Step 1: Confirm your portal type
If you are registering for the first time, click on "Fresh Registration." If you were deployed in previous batches and did not report to camp, click on "Revalidation." If you have previously registered but did not complete your registration, click "Login Here" to continue.
Do not create a new account if you already have one. Duplicate accounts create problems that are difficult to resolve before camp.
Step 2: Gather your documents before the portal opens
Before the portal opens on Thursday, PCMs should get their documents ready for a smooth process. Having these ready ahead of time can help candidates move faster once the portal becomes available.
Step 3: Fill in your personal information accurately
Locally trained prospective corps members are expected to use correct matriculation numbers to register. For locally-trained graduates, only those whose names appear in the Senate/Academic Board Approved Result lists submitted by their institutions will have access to register on the NYSC portal.
Step 4: Complete biometrics
On no account should prospective corps members register by proxy. They should also remember the fingers used for their biometric capturing, as these will be used for verification at the orientation camps. Those who cannot be verified with their biometric at the orientation camp will not be registered.
This is not optional. Biometric verification is what links your online registration to your physical presence at camp. No one can do it for you.
Step 5: Upload your passport photograph
Prospective corps members should ensure that passport photographs meet the following specifications: ensure your face (eyes, nose, ears, mouth and jaw) is fully shown without bending; ensure the picture fills the frame and is centralised; ensure the photo background is white or off-white with no shadow.
Step 6: Submit and save your login details
Once you submit, keep your username and password safe. You will need them to track your dashboard, print your call-up letter, and monitor any updates from NYSC.
A Note on Registration Fees and Payments
Online registration itself is free, but NYSC charges a portal service fee for some optional services. The payment made on the portal mainly allows prospective corps members to print their call-up letter online once it becomes available.
Only prospective corps members who want their call-up numbers sent to them through SMS and wish to print their call-up letters online are expected to pay N2,786.24. Prospective corps members who do not want to pay the N2,786.24 have the option of going to their schools to collect their call-up numbers and call-up letters.
All prospective corps members who paid for the online registration before but were not mobilised need not pay again.
