Our editorial mission
Infohubfacts exists to make the complex understandable, without sacrificing depth, nuance, or accuracy. We believe that well-informed citizens are the foundation of a healthy democracy.
Every story we publish is the product of disciplined inquiry. We ask hard questions, pursue inconvenient answers, and hold our conclusions to the highest evidentiary standards. Our readers trust us because we have earned that trust, one story at a time.
"Journalism is not a mirror held up to the world. It is a discipline of verification — a practice of gathering, testing, and presenting information in the service of public understanding."
— Infohubfacts Editorial Charter, 2026
Our editorial decisions are guided by curiosity, fairness, and a sustained commitment to the public interest. We do not publish to please advertisers, appease sources, or confirm what our readers already believe.
Standards of accuracy
Accuracy is the foundation on which all other editorial values rest. A story that is engaging, timely, and well-written but factually wrong is worse than no story at all.
Facts first
Every verifiable claim must be confirmed through at least two independent sources before publication.
Context always
Statistics and data are presented with the context required to understand their significance accurately.
Language matters
We choose words with precision. Loaded or ambiguous language that distorts meaning is not permitted.
No assumptions
We do not assume. We verify. When verification is impossible, we say so plainly and explain why.
Accuracy extends to images, charts, headlines, and social media posts, not just body text. A misleading headline attached to an accurate article is still a misleading headline. Our editors review all presentation elements before publication.
Editorial independence
Infohubfacts guarantees strict editorial independence; its journalists operate entirely separate from the company's business, advertising, and ownership divisions, with this firewall permanently built into the organization's structure rather than just being a goal.
No advertiser, sponsor, partner, or investor has any influence over editorial decisions. Coverage is never traded for commercial consideration, and no story is suppressed or softened to protect a business relationship.
Our ownership model is designed to protect editorial freedom. The Infohub Editorial Board operates under a charter that grants it sole authority over news judgements. Commercial leadership has no seat at the editorial table.
Sourcing & attribution
We name our sources wherever possible. Unnamed sources are a tool of last resort, not a convenience.
When we grant anonymity, we explain to readers why, so they can weigh the information accordingly. We do not grant anonymity to allow sources to make attacks on others without accountability.
- Sources who provide information must be informed of how it will be used.
- Requests for "off the record" are negotiated before information is shared, not after.
- We do not use composite characters, pseudonyms, or invented dialogue in news reporting.
- Documents and data are verified for authenticity before use.
- All statistical claims are traced to their original source, not secondary citations.
- AI-generated content is never presented as original human reporting.
When Infohubfacts uses information from other news organisations, we credit them clearly. We do not aggregate or repackage third-party journalism without explicit acknowledgement.
Verification process
Stories at Infohubfacts pass through a structured editorial review before publication. The depth of that review scales with the complexity and sensitivity of the subject.
Reporter verification
The originating journalist confirms all facts, quotes, and documents before submitting the story for editorial review.
Section editor review
The section editor examines the story for accuracy, fairness, framing, and completeness. Queries are returned to the reporter for resolution.
Legal & standards review
Stories involving legal risk, sensitive personal information, or significant public interest claims are reviewed by our legal and standards team.
Right of reply
Individuals or organisations subject to significant criticism are given a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication.
Final editorial sign-off
The senior editor approves publication. No story goes live without this final confirmation.
Corrections policy
We correct errors promptly, transparently, and without qualification. Errors are an opportunity to demonstrate the integrity of the process, not a failure to hide.
When a factual error is identified by staff, a source, or a reader, it is corrected at the earliest opportunity. Significant corrections are clearly noted at the top of the article, stating what was wrong and what the correct information is.
We do not silently alter published articles. Every meaningful change to published content is logged and, where appropriate, disclosed to readers. Minor typographical fixes do not require a formal correction notice, but factual changes always do.
Readers can submit correction requests at any time. Each request is reviewed by an editor within two business days. We acknowledge corrections from external sources by name where the source consents.
Conflicts of interest
The appearance of a conflict can undermine trust as effectively as an actual one. We treat both with equal seriousness.
- Journalists do not accept gifts, hospitality, or payments from people or organisations they cover.
- Reporters do not cover companies in which they hold a financial interest, directly or indirectly.
- Personal relationships with sources are disclosed to editors and managed to prevent undue influence.
- Journalists do not hold positions in political parties, campaigns, or advocacy organisations.
- External writing, speaking engagements, and consultancy work require prior editorial approval.
- Senior editors disclose their financial holdings annually, and these are reviewed by the Standards team.
Sensitive content
Some stories demand additional care not because they should be avoided, but because the harm they could cause requires proportionate editorial judgement.
We cover suicide, self-harm, and mental health in accordance with established safe-messaging guidelines. Graphic descriptions of method are not published, and stories are accompanied by appropriate resources where relevant.
Crime coverage is handled with awareness that suspects are not convicted persons, and that victims deserve to be treated with dignity. The identities of minors involved in criminal proceedings are protected.
Photographs and video that include graphic violence, death, or extreme distress are assessed against the editorial value they add. Where published, they are clearly signposted. Reader discretion notices are used when warranted but not as a substitute for genuine editorial judgement about whether content should appear at all.
